Terms of use

1. The service

OffBench ("we", "us") is a job-matching tool that turns your CV or career summary into a structured profile, then scores job listings against it. It's provided by Herts Health Consulting on an "as is" basis, currently as an unpaid alpha with no service-level guarantees.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure.
• One person, one account — don't share credentials or create accounts on behalf of others.
• You're responsible for the content you paste or upload (your CV, career summary, feedback text).
• You must be 18 or over to use OffBench.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use OffBench to:

• Upload anyone else's personal data without their knowledge and agreement.
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute job listings or search results in bulk.
• Attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, or interfere with the service for other users.
• Upload unlawful, abusive, or malicious content.

4. Match scores are estimates, not decisions

Match percentages and AI-generated fit reasons are aids to help you prioritise which jobs to look at — they are not a guarantee of suitability, eligibility, or that you meet a role's requirements. Always check the actual job advert and, where relevant, whether you hold any required professional registration or qualification. OffBench makes no employment decisions on your behalf; it advises you, and you decide.

5. Your data

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data — including the optional AI matching layer — is covered in full in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

6. Availability and changes

As an alpha product, features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and we may pause or end the service at any time. We'll do our best to give notice of anything that affects your data, but during alpha we can't guarantee uptime or data retention beyond what's described in the privacy notice.

7. Liability

OffBench is provided free of charge during the alpha, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Herts Health Consulting isn't liable for losses arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on match scores or AI-generated reasoning. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings tab, or by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops, especially moving out of alpha. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and notify you directly of any material change.
